Since Obi announced that Google Voice is Officially Supported on OBi VoIP devices, you can use your Obi with Google Voice for free calls in the USA & Canada and stop paying for monthly fees for your landline phone service. Connect your Obi to your router (you need internet to use the obi to make calls), and by using Google Voice its like a regular landline and you won’t be paying those monthly phone bills. You can click here to watch a clip to see how the Obi works.
You can transfer a number to Google Voice but it is a pain – You can only transfer your number to Google Voice from a cell phone line. So if you want to tranfer your current home number you will first have to tranfer to a cell phone (best would be a prepaid plan) and then transfer to Google Voice. There is a one-time $20 fee to port your number to Google Voice (you can click here for more info).
Note: The price is accurate as of the time of posting, but Amazon’s prices are always changing, so make sure to check the price shown on Amazon when you are checking out, as that will be the price you are charged!
