American Express is offering SELECT CARDHOLDERS a $10 statement credit when using an enrolled American Express Card to make a single purchase of $50 or more in-store at a supermarket in NY, NJ or CT by 7/14/14. Limit 3 statement credits per American Express online account.
To see if you can add this offer to your card,
• Login to your online American Express account.
• Scroll down a bit to where you can see your recent transactions
• Click on “Offers For You” and you will see a list of offers you can add to your card (you can see some of the American Express Twitter offers I posted about, but this offer is not available with Twitter), and save it to your card.
For the purposes of this offer, a “supermarket” is a store whose primary business comes from the sale of a variety of foods such as meat, fresh produce, dairy, canned and packaged goods, but also sells a variety of household products, pharmacy products and pet supplies.
The following are NOT considered supermarkets:
- Specialty food stores such as a standalone cheese shop, butcher, or bakery
- Small corner grocery stores
- Gourmet shops
- Convenience stores
- Drug stores
- Natural food stores
- Large superstores including warehouse clubs, big box stores, supercenters, hypermarkets, and megastores whose primary business comes from the sale of items such as toys, electronics, furniture, clothing, sporting goods, household products, office supplies and beauty supplies, and which may also sell food in a space that is typically less than half the total store size.
