StarKist Tuna Class Action Settlement: Choose $25 Or $50 In StarKist Tuna Products – If You Bought Select Tuna Cans Between 2/19/09 – 10/31/14
If you purchased one or more of the following 5 oz. StarKist canned tuna products – Chunk Light Tuna in Water, Chunk Light Tuna in Oil, Solid White Tuna in Water, Solid White Tuna in Oil between February 19, 2009 through October 31, 2014 you can get a $25 check, or $50 in product vouchers redeemable for StarKist tuna products from the StarKist tuna class action settlement (these claim amounts may be subject to pro rata dilution if the total amount of claims exceeds the available settlement funds).
The Lawsuit claims that StarKist under-filled certain 5 oz. canned tuna products in violation of state and federal law. StarKist denies that it underfilled its products and denies that it did anything wrong. The Court did not rule in favor of Plaintiff or StarKist. Instead, the parties agreed to a Proposed Settlement to avoid the expense and risks of continuing the lawsuit.
To be part of this class action settlement you must file a claim by November 20, 2015. You don’t need a receipt or other proof of purchase to submit a claim. You will, however, be required to submit a Claim Form confirming under penalty of perjury the specific StarKist product(s) you purchased, and that the purchase or purchases were made within the Settlement Class Period.
